I think I would have also felt a little awkward, so you're not alone there lol!

In regards to your experience with the election, it was also my first time voting, so I could definitely connect with Deirdre's excitement. I stayed home for a while waiting for my mom to get home that day so that we could go off and vote together and I definitely remember feeling so impatient lol!

I also agree with Kayli's comment because I appreciated the statement you made about being "reminded last night how different our stories can be".

I also like that you put up facts regarding the elections because I was not aware of these facts:
1. The first openly lesbian senator (wisconsin)
2. 4 states upheld or passed marriage equality
3. first disabled veteran Congresswoman
4. first woman senator in Massachusetts history
5. 19 women elected to the senate

Lastly, I am happy to hear that your parents have been supportive and have come a long way throughout your process... keep moving forward :) I pass on to you a warm genuine smile, "a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love"Sabrina Alvarezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04732200351182134646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721680354688085635.post-54151836651859662462012-11-08T12:04:02.286-08:002012-11-08T12:04:02.286-08:00I like how you said in times like these we are rem...I like how you said in times like these we are reminded of how different our stories can be. You never realize until you imagine being in someone else's position, how much this election effects different peoples situations, but also how far we've come like the first openly lesbian senator Kaylihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08771564938367545346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721680354688085635.post-20404720981322640242012-11-08T11:24:29.902-08:002012-11-08T11:24:29.902-08:00I enjoyed reading your blog because I didn't r...I enjoyed reading your blog because I didn't really connect to the elections personally and in return the election experience didn't connect to class for me. I liked how you had a real purpose for voting and I am happy for you that this election went positively for you.

I also thought the facts that you posted about women, disabled politicians, and the lesbian senator, did relate to class very well and I appreciate you posting them. I feel like I missed out on the whole purpose and all of the good that came out of it pertaining to equality in society and progress society is making. courtneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00504411821516383708noreply@blogger.com
